Project Location - San Remo NSW
Project Type - Secondary Dwelling
This 60m² secondary dwelling was carefully designed to maximise functionality, comfort, and long-term resilience within a constrained flood-affected site. Delivered under the Complying Development Certificate (CDC) approval pathway, the project required strategic planning and precise coordination to ensure full compliance with flood controls, finished floor level requirements, and local regulatory standards — all without compromising on design quality.
The architectural response elevates both form and performance. The dwelling is thoughtfully arranged to create a strong sense of space beyond its modest footprint, with an efficient open-plan living zone, generous glazing for natural light, and seamless indoor–outdoor connection. Clean lines, refined detailing, and a restrained material palette define the contemporary exterior, complemented by an integrated Alfresco that maintains practical functionality while preserving the architectural intent.
Internally, the home delivers a modern, sophisticated interior. A neutral colour scheme, durable finishes, and streamlined joinery create a calm yet luxurious atmosphere suited to both long-term living and investment use. Every element was considered to enhance spatial flow and liveability within the compact footprint.
Completed in collaboration with AtoZ Homes Pty Ltd, this project demonstrates how intelligent design and strategic planning can unlock value in challenging site conditions — transforming a flood-affected parcel into a compliant, high-quality secondary dwelling that is both resilient and refined.
