Set within a picturesque rural landscape, this contemporary farmhouse was conceived as a refined downsizing retreat for our clients’ next chapter. Designed to embrace its natural surroundings, the home balances warmth and simplicity with a confident architectural presence — grounded in rural character yet distinctly modern in execution.

The brief centred on creating a highly functional, right-sized home without compromise. Open-plan living spaces flow seamlessly to outdoor entertaining areas, capturing expansive views and natural light throughout the day. A carefully considered material palette of natural timbers, stone textures and muted tones anchors the home to its setting, while clean lines and generous glazing introduce a contemporary edge.

Sustainability was fundamental to the design approach. Passive solar orientation, high-performance glazing, deep overhangs and carefully selected materials work together to enhance thermal comfort and reduce long-term energy demands. The result is a home that performs as beautifully as it looks — efficient, durable and thoughtfully resolved.

This bespoke residence was delivered in collaboration with Stand Design + Construct Pty Ltd, ensuring design integrity was maintained from concept through to construction. The outcome is a considered, sustainable farmhouse that reflects our clients’ lifestyle, values and vision for a more intentional way of living.
